Architect Vegliante reveals the secrets behind the evolution of his Mystic light project
We met the Italian architect and designer who revealed us all the secrets behind the mysterious curves of Mystic profile.
What was your first inspiration for Mystic design?
“The starting inspiration was Leonardo da Vinci, the great Italian renaissance inventor and eclectic artist.
His project of a forerunner helicopter named “Vite Aerea” dated 1489 gave me the first sparkle. The outlines of Da Vinci’s “Vite Aerea” obsessed me until I have been able to glean and re-edit these dynamic curving marks in a single shape and in a 3D drawing.
Did the wonderful place where you live – Tuscany – influence you in this project?
“Yes, I guess that Florence hills profiles influenced me while conceiving the Mystic curvilinear outline because I strongly love Tuscany, the place where I Iive and work, where I was born and I’ve studied arts.
I love to analyze the deep relationship between man and nature by an artistic point of view. The organic shape of Mystic is a consequence of this art path.
So, what’s the “secret” meaning of Mystic?
Mystic lamp is a synthesis between the glorious past of Leonardo Da Vinci Code and the present-day wish to return back to the roots, to a natural life. The secret meaning will be revealed only to those who will be able to turn it on its light and enjoy the fascinating light effect
